On Saturday, April 18, 2009, the culture of the Independent Record Store will be celebrated all across the United States, and in Europe, Asia, Australia and South America as well!

Over a thousand independent stores will be joined together in this celebration inviting you, our loyal customers, to come and hang out and join in the festivities. Each store will be celebrating in a manner befitting them. We are going to be offering free food and drink ... the food is being provided by our good friends, RJ's Deli, which is located just a few blocks east of us ... our plans are to have Smash Corp, winners of The Next Great Metal Band contest here at Kiss The Sky, perform an acoustic set during the afternoon.

In addition, we are giving away a FREE Audio Technica AT-PL50 turntable with each purchase of $200 in used vinyl or $300 in new vinyl. That may sound like a lot of vinyl, and it is, however, it's a $130 turntable for FREE!!! And for you vinyl junkies, a couple of hundred dollars in used vinyl is just a drop in the vinyl bucket!

If that vinyl program is a bit out of the ballpark for ya, we are also offering a FREE $50 Gift Certicate with the purchase of an Audio Technica AT-PL120 Turntable, a $20 Gift Certificate with an Audio Technica AT-LP2D-USB Turntable and a $10 Gift Certificate with the purchase of an Audio Technica AT-PL50 Turntable.

And, let's know forget the limited releases!!!
As part of the Record Store Day celebration, several artists are provding limited edition releases that will be available only at those independent record stores that are part of he Record Store Day program ... which we are of coursel. Some of the participating artists include Wilco, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, My Morning Jacket, Slayer, Heaven & Hell, Iron and Wine, Bad Religion, Queen and Radiohead.
